JOPLIN, Mo. — It's National Taco Day, and taco lovers across the Joplin area have plenty of reasons to celebrate, including free tacos, giveaways and special deals at participating restaurants.
One local favorite, Ghetto Tacos, is celebrating National Taco Day at several of its area locations, with special giveaways taking place throughout the day.
Ghetto Tacos
Ghetto Tacos will be serving customers at the following locations: 22nd & Main St. — Joplin: 2128 S. Main St., 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Tractor Supply — Lamar: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Ghetto Tacos Shop — Webb City: 536 N. East St., 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Joplin location will also host a local giveaway, giving customers the chance to win a free lunch or a Ghetto Tacos T-shirt.
Ghetto Tacos Manager Ashley Linder gave KZRG the inside scoop on the celebration.
"Today is National Taco Day. We set up at our location every Tuesday, but today we are doing giveaways every few hours. We have a timer set. We'll either give away your food for free or you can get a shirt," Linder explained.
Customers looking to wash down their tacos with something sweet can take advantage of a special partnership between Ghetto Tacos and Pop It Like It's Hot, a local dirty soda bar.
While Pop It Like It's Hot will not be set up at the Joplin Ghetto Tacos location, customers who show their Ghetto Tacos receipt can receive $1 off their drinks at the soda bar.
Pop It Like It's Hot will also be located at the Ghetto Tacos locations in Lamar and Webb City for the celebration.

Moe's Southwest Grill 3120 S. Main St., Joplin Customers can get up to three single tacos for $2.
Speedy Tacos 1710 S. Maiden Lane, Joplin Tacos are $2.75 all day long. Meat options include steak, beef and chicken, with cilantro and onions available as toppings.
