KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The FBI's Kansas City Field Office will host a special agent information session Oct. 28 for people interested in learning more about careers with the agency.

The session will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. and will cover the requirements to become an FBI special agent, the application process, pay and benefits, and what a typical day on the job looks like.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to ask questions and meet current FBI special agents. Those interested in pursuing a career with the agency may also have the opportunity to begin the application process during the event.

To qualify as an FBI special agent, applicants must be U.S. citizens between the ages of 23 and 37, have a valid driver's license and a bachelor's degree, and maintain good standing on loans and taxes. Applicants also cannot have felony convictions.

The FBI said it is seeking candidates from a wide range of backgrounds as it works to recruit individuals interested in a career focused on protecting the American people and upholding the Constitution.

The event is free, but space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Interested candidates are encouraged to submit an interest form as soon as possible. Submitting the form does not guarantee entry, and selected participants will receive additional information from the FBI about attending, including details about a background check.

Those interested in attending can find the registration form through the FBI's Kansas City website. Questions about the session can be emailed to [email protected].
