Springfield Bomb Squad & team from Fort Leonard Wood remove possible explosive device in Pierce City

Multiple units responded to a report of an unexploded device in Pierce City at about 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon.
The device was reported around 3 p.m. in the the vicinity of Spruce and Olive Streets.
After confirming such a device existed, local police secured the scene.
The Springfield Bomb Scene responded.
The Fort Leonard Wood Explosive Ordnance Disposal team assisted.
They took the device to a location outside of Pierce City and disposed of it.
After that, streets were reopened to traffic.
There were no injuries.
