Portion of Zora to close for gas line relocation

A heads-up for Joplin and Webb City drivers.

A well-traveled stretch of Zora between Range Line and Duquesne Roads will close during the daytime on weekdays beginning Monday.

The road will reopen each evening. Local traffic will still be allowed, but thru traffic will have to find another route.

Spire is relocating and upgrading gas lines ahead of the final phase of the Zora Street improvement project. The work is expected to take about four weeks.

City officials say the full daytime closure is necessary because of the hilly terrain along Zora, which can limit visibility and create safety concerns.
