Search continues for escaped prisoner in Cherokee County

Terron M. C. Allen, age 28 of Baxter Springs, is wanted by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office for escape from custody.

On September 21, 2026, a deputy with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office reported that a prisoner that he was transporting slipped his handcuffs and exited from his patrol vehicle and fled on foot as they were approaching the Sheriff's Office.

Allen was in custody for a warrant out of Cherokee County and is now sought for escape from custody. He was last seen in the area of the 900 block of East Country Road, wearing a white button up short sleeve shirt and dark colored shorts.
