Man accused of stealing $500k from Neosho business he helped manage

A Neosho man is accused of stealing $500,000 from a business where he handled the company’s finances.

27-year-old Austin Tyler Wren is charged with felony stealing.

Court documents say the owner of ReBath told police that Wren called him earlier this month and admitted he had been taking money from company accounts.

After that call, the company began reviewing its finances and found a number of purchases that appeared to have nothing to do with the business, including casino-related spending, purchases through Whatnot and other personal expenses.

The owner also told investigators that company accounts had dropped significantly over the past several months and that other funds coming into the business had been used to cover shortages.

According to the court filing, the owner later found transactions suggesting company money had also been used to start another business and invest in cryptocurrency.
