Early this (Saturday) morning, Aurora, Missouri PD was called to the area of the 500 block of South Porter. There, officers discovered an adult Hispanic male suffering from stab wounds. The victim was life flighted to a Springfield hospital and is expected to survive.

The investigation revealed the suspect in the stabbing is a Hispanic male named Gabriel Hernandez Urango. Urango had fled the scene prior to police being called. He is possibly still in the Aurora area and may be bleeding from injuries suffered during the attack. Aurora Police located and seized the knife used in the incident.

We caution the public against approaching the suspect due to suspected access to more knives. We believe he was possibly picked up by a friend driving a silver Kia van with no license plate.

We have information to believe he changed clothes after the stabbing and may be wearing a white sweatshirt and black cap. His shoes were located near the scene and he may be barefoot.
