Flights, Booze, and Netflix: Former Carl Junction Chamber Boss Charged with Raiding Group’s Plastic

CARL JUNCTION, Mo. — The former executive director of the Carl Junction Area Chamber of Commerce faces multiple criminal charges after allegedly using an organization credit card to cover personal expenses ranging from flights to streaming services.

The Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Nicholas Howard with one count of stealing and eight misdemeanor counts of fraudulent use of a credit device.

Court documents allege Howard treated the Chamber card as a personal account. Prosecutors say the unauthorized purchases included airline travel, liquor, restaurant tabs, groceries, fuel, and ongoing streaming subscription services—none tied to official Chamber business.

Howard is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges at 9 a.m. Oct. 7 in Jasper County Circuit Court.
