La-Z-Boy announces massive expansion in Neosho
What do you think?
La-Z-Boy plans to invest $23 million in its Neosho operations, an expansion expected to create up to 100 new jobs.
The project includes an expansion of the company’s manufacturing operations and construction of a 150,000-square-foot distribution center. The new facility will serve as a centralized hub in La-Z-Boy’s U.S. supply chain.
La-Z-Boy has operated in Neosho for more than 50 years and is the city’s largest manufacturing employer. The company recently raised starting pay at the plant to $20 an hour.
“Neosho has been an integral part of our company for more than 50 years,” La-Z-Boy President and CEO Melinda Whittington said. She said the project will improve efficiency and strengthen service to customers.
The company could receive an estimated $356,304 in state incentives through the Missouri Works program if it meets job-creation requirements.
Neosho City Manager David Kennedy called the investment a reflection of the company’s longstanding partnership with the community.
