Kansas communities with big ideas for attracting visitors could soon have some major financial help.

Kansas Tourism is making $1 million available in Attraction Development Grants for projects designed to create new tourism attractions or enhance existing ones across the state.

Applications open August 17, with a deadline of October 16, 2026.

The grants are intended to support destination-based tourism projects that can increase visitation, generate economic activity, improve the visitor experience and enhance quality of life in Kansas communities.

Lieutenant Governor and Commerce Secretary David Toland says investing in tourism also means investing in the future of local communities. He says the grants can help turn promising ideas into attractions that bring in visitors, create jobs and generate new economic activity.

Kansas Tourism Director Bridgette Jobe says every Kansas community has a unique story to tell, and memorable attractions can help tell those stories while encouraging travelers to explore the state and stay longer.

More information about the Attraction Development Grants is available through Kansas Tourism, or by contacting Babette Dixon at [email protected].
