Reminiscent of the “soup lines” from the mid 1930’s, Empty Bowls is a grass roots fundraiser brought to people in cities and towns around the world by artists and crafts people to care for and feed the hungry in their communities.

Empty Bowls, locally, is hosted and facilitated by Watered Gardens Ministries and over 30 regional clay artists.

Regional clay artists will gather at Skinner Studio, located at 19099 Aspen Rd., Diamond, MO 64840
from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 14th for the 2026 Empty Bowls event!

The Midwest Clay Artists are potters and ceramic artists from Missouri and Kansas who have
banded together to strengthen their community and enhance individual practices through
collaboration and connection.

Watered Gardens Ministries serves the local Church in its mission to help the poor. We envision the
local Church boldly engaged with the poor and homeless relationally responsibly and compassionately for the transformation of life. Watered Gardens is a privately funded ministry in operation since June of 2000.

Come watch potters wedge the clay, throw approximately 2 lbs. of clay onto the wheel and shape it into a beautifully handcrafted bowl, then leather dry and trim the bowls before the first bisque
firing! Light refreshments available.

This event is open to the public.

Empty Bowls supports organizations that feed people and are 100% voluntarily funded: Hope Kitchen in Neosho, MO and Watered Gardens Ministries in Joplin, MO.
