Grand re-opening and ribbon cutting at Joplin History and Mineral Museum
What do you think?

A grand reopening of the Joplin History and Mineral Museum Friday morning.
A ribbon cutting by both the Joplin and Carl Junction Chamber of Commerce was held.
Museum Director Chris Wiseman told Newstalk KZRG:
“Well, this is the culmination of about a month of very, very hard work for both my staff and the staff of the Joplin maintenance department. We have been closed for the month of January so that we could concentrate on getting the museum renovated.”
Wiseman went on to say:
“We have so many different aspects that we have looked to improve here at the museum, and I believe that we've hit almost every mark that we had laid out for ourselves. We have a new audio visual room. We have the new permanent room, Route 66 exhibit. We have reworked our exhibit on Bonnie and Clyde. We focused on some businesses from historic Joplin, like the Keystone Hotel, the House of Lords. We've added photos and stuff to our mineral side that deal more with the human element of mining, instead of just the rocks and minerals that were mined here. So I'm really proud that we have kind of a whole new overview here at the museum.”
It is located in Schifferdecker Park.
