Active threat exercises in Newton County help assured coordinated, effective response

The Newton County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with Redings Mill Area Fire Protection District, Newton County Ambulance District, Newton County Central Dispatch Center, Neosho Fire Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are conducting active threat exercises today, Wednesday, December 10th.
The exercises allow first responders to experience a simulated active threat event.
This will also allow responder agencies to evaluate current procedures and make needed improvements for possible real-world events.
The exercises help assure assure a coordinated, timely, and effective response and recovery in the event of a major incident.
The area where the exercise are taking place are clearly marked.
