Devastating loss for Carthage Tigers in State Championship game

The Carthage Tigers played a spirited game Friday night in St. Joseph, Missouri but  failed to walk away with the victory.

The Tigers lost to the Platte County Pirates 34-28 in the Class 5 State Championship game.

The score was 21-21 at the half, but Carthage was held scoreless in the third quarter.

When the game went into overtime, Platte City prevailed, giving them the Class 5 State Championship.
