Missouri American Water recognizes Foundation’s grant to Joplin Workshops, Inc.

JOPLIN, Mo. – Dec. 5, 2026 – The American Water Charitable Foundation, a philanthropic non-profit organization established by American Water (NYSE: AWK), the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., and Missouri American Water, announced today that the Foundation awarded a $6,000 State Strategic Impact grant to Joplin Workshops, Inc., an organization providing employment opportunities to Missourians with disabilities.

“This generous grant from the American Water Charitable Foundation will help Joplin Workshops continue our mission of providing meaningful employment and skill-building opportunities for individuals with disabilities,” said Tracy Wheatley, Executive Director for Joplin Workshops, Inc. “These funds will help expand resources that empower our team members to thrive in the workplace and in life. We are deeply grateful for this partnership and the positive impact it will have on our community.”

A check presentation is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 8th at Joplin Workshop’s production facility located at 520 Michigan Avenue.

The State Strategic Impact grant is part of the 2025 Keep Communities Flowing Grant Program, focusing on three pillars of giving: Water, People and Communities. State Strategic Impact grants support high-impact projects and initiatives throughout American Water’s national footprint.
