Joplin City Council meets Monday night

The Joplin City Council meets on Monday, Dec. 1st in regular session.

Council members will review a report from the City Heath Department on healthcare in Joplin and the surrounding counties.

The Council also will get an update from the Regional Homelessness Commission.

Members will give further consideration to a new ordinance prohibiting the offense of criminal mischief.

The ordinance is aimed at preventing squatters in unoccupied structures in the city.

Under the Consent Agenda, the Council will adopting a new step pay plan for city employees.

On first reading, the Council will consider a Memorandum of Understanding that could lead to the renovation of Joplin's Memorial Hall.

The meeting starts at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers in City Hall at 602 Main Street.

The public is invited to attend.
