Thanksgiving Dinner Costs Drop in Missouri, Survey Shows

(Missourinet) – Some good news for those Missourians getting ready to go to the grocery store ahead of Thanksgiving Day.
President of the Missouri Farm Bureau, Garrett Hawkins, says the American Farm Bureau Federation’s annual survey shows that a holiday feast for 10 will cost less than last year.
“You think about the traditional Thanksgiving meal of Turkey and sweet potatoes or mashed potatoes, stuffing, pumpkin pie, etcetera. The overall cost of a typical dinner is down to $55 roughly on average. And in Missouri we’re about $10 under the national average.”
Hawkins says the report shows that turkey prices decreased by 16 percent this year when compared to last year.
