Joplin’s MOmentum Bike Park opens to the public

Joplin’s brand new MOmentum Bike Park is now open to the public!

City officials and community members gathered for a ribbon cutting Monday afternoon to celebrate the park, which is the largest municipal facility of its kind in Missouri.

MOmentum, situated in an area just southwest of Zora and Main Street, features more than 132,000 square feet of formal bike park elements alongside ten miles of purpose-built mountain bike trails.

Located on a 95-acre site, the facility is designed to serve riders of all ages and skill levels. It offers both a regional attraction and a community asset which promotes active lifestyles and family-friendly recreation.

The project was funded through the Parks and Stormwater Tax (1/4-cent sales tax renewed by voters on August 3, 2021 with 79.5% approval), the Hotel/Motel Tax, and a State Department of Economic Development Local Tourism ARPA grant of $1.5 million to expand and improve the project.
