Two injured in Barton County crash

A two-vehicle crash in Barton County Thursday morning injured both drivers.

The Highway Patrol says the crash occurred around 4:40 a.m. on I-49, seven miles south of Lamar.

A pickup, driven by a 61-year-old male from Sherwood, Arkansas, was trying to pass a passenger driven by a 35-year-old male from Carthage.

The truck hit the car while trying to change lanes. Both vehicles went off the right side of the road, struck a concrete culvert, and overturned.

The car driver had minor injuries. The truck driver had moderate injuries.

They were taken to Joplin hospitals.
