Webb City VFW and American Legion Gear Up for Annual Community Thanksgiving Feast This Weekend

WEBB CITY, Mo. — In a heartwarming tradition that brings the community together, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7630 and American Legion Post 322 will host their annual free Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday, November 23, offering a hot meal and warm camaraderie to all who attend amid the holiday spirit.

“There’s a lot of community support and that’s our purpose,” said Shelby Horn. “It’s just our way of letting more people know what we do.”

The event, set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the organizations’ shared hall at 900 N. Main St., promises classic fixings like roasted turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, and all the trimmings, prepared fresh in the facility’s modern kitchen by a dedicated team of volunteers from the posts and their auxiliaries.

“There’s nothing at all that we receive except the satisfaction of helping the community,” Horn added.

Since opening their new building in 2022, the posts have expanded community outreach, using the space for bingo nights, veterans’ breakfasts, and youth programs like the JROTC banquet, all while honoring the sacrifices of those who’ve served.
