Joplin man given nine years in prison for stealing wire

A man from Joplin, who was caught cutting and stealing telecommunication wire, has been given a nine year prison sentence.

36-year-old Jordan Romero was first arrested in Sarcoxie in March of 2024, when he had more than 450 feet of stolen cables.

Then, three months later, Romero was taken into custody for stealing more than one thousand feet of telecommunication wire from AT&T.

He plead guilty this week to stealing and receiving stolen property.
