Vision Carthage unveils newly restored home

Carthage, MO – Vision Carthage will host a joint ribbon-cutting with the Carthage Chamber of Commerce and a $5,000 check presentation on behalf of the Corley Memorial Trust to celebrate the completion of a Restoration Carthage home located at 1303 W. Central.

The event will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19. Parking is available in the King Cash Saver parking lot directly across from the home at the corner of Central and Baker. Vision Carthage partnered with the Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity and Abernathy Roofing and Construction to provide siding to the home, beginning work in September.

Built in 1946, the home lacked insulation and was in serious need of TLC.

The Restoration Carthage Program began in 2016. The program pairs eager volunteers with skilled laborers and materials to complete exterior repairs on homes at no cost to the homeowner through partnerships with other nonprofits and organizations.

To date, over 65 homes have been repaired or restored in the community.

This year’s Restoration Carthage efforts were made possible through the Corley Memorial Trust, the Helen S. Boylan Foundation, the Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity, Abernathy Roofing and Construction, Galbraith
Flooring, Reliable Rolloffs, Innovative Industries, Inc., Eddys Construction, Fair Acres Family YMCA, The
Hunter Team, PRO 100, INC. Realtors, Serving Southwest Missouri, Midwest Window & Pressure
Washing and Hearts and Hammers of Southwest MO.
