Jasper County Sheriff’s office Food Drive

Your help is needed

The Jasper County Sheriff’s office is hosting a canned food drive to help stock local food pantries for the holiday season.

Sheriff Randee Kaiser told Newstalk KZRG:

“The idea is we’re going to collect up some canned food, some non-perishable type foods and then turn around and donate those to our local food pantry, the crisis center, cross lines there in Carthage just to help out our community, you know, during this time of the year.”

Kaiser went on to say:  “And it’s an opportunity for us to give back. And that’s kind of the idea behind it. I mean, food insecurity in Jasper county is a very real thing. And I think if there’s anything that we’ve learned over the past month or so is that you can’t always trust the federal government to help us out with things like that.”

You can drop off non-perishable items to the Sheriff’s Office at 231 South Main in Carthage now through November 21st, weekdays 8 AM through 4 PM.
