It was a safe Halloween according to the county’s Sex Offender Compliance Detail

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office conducted a county-wide Sex Offender Compliance Detail in preparation for Halloween. The purpose of the operation was to ensure all registered sex offenders within Jasper County were in compliance with Missouri State Statutes and all applicable registration requirements.

During the detail, a total of 171 registered sex offenders were contacted and verified. Of those, 130 were found to be in full compliance, while 8 were identified as non-compliant and are currently under investigation for potential registration violations. Additionally, 40 registered sex offenders residing within the Joplin city limits were assigned to the Joplin Police Department for verification. Of those, 6 were identified as non-compliant and are also under investigation.

The operation was conducted in coordination with the Joplin Police Department and the Carthage Police Department. No major incidents were reported during the course of the detail.

This operation demonstrates the continued collaborative efforts of local law enforcement agencies to ensure community safety and offender accountability during high-risk public events such as Halloween.
