Man from Lamar charged with statutory rape in Jasper County

An arrest warrant has been issued for a man from Lamar charged with statutory rape in Jasper County.

23-year-old Saylor Kelly Sheat is charged in an incident that invoved a 14-year-old juvenile girl.

A probable cause statement says Sheat and the juvenile met on Snapchat and arranged to have a meeting.

Sheat drove 45 minutes to pick the girl up up and they then drove to a Joplin park where they had sex.

Sheat, according to the statement, confessed to having sex with the juvenile.
