Three people seriously injured in accident on West 20th Street

Three people were seriously injured in an accident on West 20th Street two miles west of Joplin just before 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a westbound Chevy 2500 pickup crossed the centerline and struck an eastbound passenger car head on.

The 66-year-old female driver of the car and two occupants  –  a 37-year-old woman and a 16 year old girl –  all from Galena, Kansas, had serious injuries.

They were transported to a Joplin hospital.

The driver of the pickup, a 59-year old man from Joplin, was not injured.
