Guns, meth and cash seized in search warrant near Nevada Missouri

Three men from Nevada, Missouri, face multiple charges after a narcotics search warrant found firearms, meth and cash in Vernon County.

On Wednesday, October 15, law enforcement officers with the Nevada Police Department & Vernon County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in rural Nevada.

Nevada Police detectives had been conducting a narcotics investigation on multiple subjects residing on the property. It was also discovered that a known subject with outstanding felony warrants was hiding at the residence. Upon arrival, law enforcement was able to detain three male suspects inside the home.

During a search of the residence, K9 Edo was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics. Officers seized approximately one hundred fifty grams of methamphetamine, over twenty grams of cocaine, and other suspected illegal narcotics and related drug paraphernalia. Law enforcement also seized over $50,000 in cash and over 50 firearms, including a fully automatic weapon.

After the execution of the search warrant, local law enforcement has been in communication with our federal law enforcement partners on the investigation.

On October 15, 2025, the following charges were filed through the Vernon County Associate Court:

Victor A. Castro, age 45, of Nevada
One (1) Count of Trafficking Drugs 1st Degree – Class B Felony
One (1) Count of Unlawful Use of Weapon – Class E Felony
Two (2) Counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Class D Felony

Anthony Castro, age 47, of Nevada
One (1) Count of Trafficking Drugs 1st Degree – Class B Felony
One (1) Count of Unlawful Use of Weapon – Class E Felony
Two (2) Counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Class D Felony

Dean G. Phebus, age 24, of Nevada
One (1) Count of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm – Class C Felony
One (1) Count of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Class D Felony
One (1) Count of Unlawful Use of Weapon – Class E Felony
