What: Route 171 Closed at Route 96

When: 6 a.m., Monday, October 13 through 7 p.m., Friday, October 17

What: Contractor crews setting barrier walls, taking down edge forms from bridge deck/driving surface

Traffic Impacts:

• All lanes of Route 171 CLOSED at Route 96 October 13-17
• Traffic will be diverted up and over Route 171 on- and off-ramps in both directions
• Drivers should expect slowed traffic and delays
• Drivers urged to find alternate routes
• Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the closure
• Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.

This work is part of the project to replace the Route 96 bridge over Route 171 with a new bridge that is slightly higher and 12 feet longer than the current bridge. The $2.8 million project is scheduled to be completed by November 19, 2025.
