Donate shoes in good condition to “Shoe Us the Love” at ESC

Do you have a pair, a few pair or even a whole closet filled with shoes in good condition?

You can put them to good use by donating them to the “Shoe Us the Love” shoe drive at the Economic Security Corporation.

Tammy Walker of the ESC says the effort wants gently used or new shoes.

“The shoes get sent to low-income countries to help the people there with their micro-enterprise business,” she explains.

She says the funds raised will be used locally to help homeless people trying to get into housing pay housing application fees  and for other support services.

Donations may be brought to the Joplin ESC Office at 302 Joplin Street; to the Anderson Outreach Office at 324 Mill Street; the Neosho Outreach Office at 107 N. Jefferson or the Lamar Outreach Office at 1301 E. 12th Street.

Walker says they hope to collect about 2,500 pairs of shoes.
