Missouri State Audit on City of Joplin released

Missouri State Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick has issued an official state audit on the City of Joplin.

In areas audited, the overall performance, according to the Auditor, was Fair.

The audit found no fraud, no theft, and no unlawful activities.

Most of the recommendations are focused on ways to help the City refine and strengthen its operational processes, financial management and transparency.

The auditor pointed a number of weak areas.
