Pedestrian killed in fatal hit and run accident in Barry County last night

The search is on for the driver of a vehicle that hit and killed a pedestrian in Barry County around 9:20 Wednesday night and then left the scene of the accident.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 35-year-old woman from Springfield was hit and was pronounced dead at Springfield’s Mercy Hospital a little after 11 p.m.

The Patrol says the driver and type of vehicle are unknown as is the direction the vehicle used to leave the scene.
