Joplin Ewert Park splash pad and ice ribbon in the works

Big changes are coming to Ewert Park in Joplin.

Mayor Keenan Cortez told the KZRG Morning Newswatch:

“The pool at Ewart Park is going to be non-existent anymore and that entire area is going to be a splash pad. And in the winter we’re going to convert that to an ice ribbon so you can actually come down an ice skate outdoors inside the city limits of Joplin. Ewart Park right there in the heart of our city is going to undergo a complete transformation. This splash pad is just one piece of that and we’re going to try to get to work on that pretty soon.”
