Is President Trump directly involved with redrawing the Missouri Congressional maps?

Missouri state senator Mary Elizabeth Coleman told Newstalk KZRG, not exactly:

“The president is the leader of our party. And of course, he has a strong interest in making sure that we send more Republicans to Congress. And of course he has a strong interest in making sure that we’re doing good, big Republican things.”

Coleman went on to say:  “And so it’s kind of an absurd thing. If President Obama had been saying, you know, good job, thanks Missouri, you know, thanks Missouri Senate for doing something, it wouldn’t have been, oh, President Obama is directing the Senate to do something. I think that these talking points are really shallow and they don’t make a heck of a lot of sense. So, yes, the president has said he’s excited about this. He has said he’s thrilled that we’re working on this.”
