Groundbreaking slated for future home of Carthage Farmer’s Market

CARTHAGE, Mo –  The McCune-Brooks Healthcare Foundation and Here 4 Carthage are pleased to announce the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Kolpin Family Pavilion, the future home of the Carthage Farmer’s Market and a new community gathering space.

The event will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 16 at 10:00 am at 122 Grant Street in Carthage.

Community members, supporters, and partners are warmly invited to attend and take part in this milestone celebration.

The ceremony will celebrate the beginning of construction on this much-anticipated project, which will provide a permanent space for the Carthage Farmer’s Market, while also serving as a venue for community events and rentals.

“We’re thrilled to see this vision becoming a reality,” said Lora Phelps, McCune-Brooks Healthcare Foundation Executive Director. “The Market Pavilion will not only enhance our Farmer’s Market experience but will also create a space where the entire community can gather, celebrate, and connect.”

The McCune-Brooks Healthcare Foundation and Here 4 Carthage extends its gratitude to generous lead donors –the Ruth I. Kolpin Family Foundation, K.D. and M.L. Steadley Memorial Trust, McCune- Brooks Regional Hospital Trust, and Helen S. Boylan Foundation – whose gifts have provided the vital foundation to launch this project.

Their support has made it possible for the project to begin, and we now look forward to building upon their generosity as fundraising continues.

Community members can support the project by making a donation or purchasing a commemorative brick, which will be incorporated into the pavilion site.

Each gift is a lasting way to honor a loved one, celebrate a family, or show support for the future of Carthage.

Special thanks also go to the City of Carthage and its Public Works Department for their partnership, as well as project collaborators MacCo Builders, Hunter & Millard Architects, Inc., and Zanevan Engineering.

The Foundation is proud to be partnering with the Carthage Farmer’s Market, ensuring the pavilion not only strengthens access to fresh, local produce but also fosters a stronger, healthier community.
