Suspected illegal drugs found in search; man from Pittsburg arrested
On Thursday morning, August 28, 2025, at approximately 06:50 AM, law enforcement officers with the Pittsburg Police Department served a search warrant at a residence located in the 300 block of W. 7th Street, in Pittsburg.
The search warrant stemmed from an investigation into the distribution and possession of controlled substances, and the police department’s Special Response Team was utilized to make initial entry into the residence.
Upon arrival, while officers began moving up to the residence to prepare for notification and entry, two occupants exited the residence. One of the suspects, a female, was immediately detained while the other suspect, a male, began to flee on foot from the officers. The male suspect was quickly apprehended by officers without further incident, and both suspects were transported to the police station for questioning.
Entry was made into the residence without incident, and no other occupants were located.
The search of the residence revealed distribution amounts of illegal drugs, suspected to be cocaine.
As a result, 35–year-old Kentorian Contrell Hamilton, of Pittsburg, was placed under arrest.
The female subject was released from the police station after questioning.
Hamilton was transported to the jail located at the Crawford County Sheriff’s office for booking. Hamilton was arrested for felony distribution of controlled substances within 1000 feet of a school, felony possession of controlled substance, felony interference with law enforcement, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Hamilton is currently being held without bond.
Hamilton is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
