Man from Wyandotte acquitted of rape charges in Delaware County

It took a jury a little over an hour in Delaware County but the verdict was not guilty Wednesday against a convicted sex offender accused of sexually abusing three 6-year-old girls.

That verdict came even after witnesses testified that 52-year old George Eric Christensen of Wyandotte sexually assaulted them.

The alleged rapes took place in a small wooden “clubhouse” constructed by Christensen.

The parents of victims later burned the playhouse down after charges against Christensen were made public

Jurors were not allowed to hear information about Christensen’s long history as a sex offender to protect his constitutional rights.
