SEK Symphony announces 2025-26 season

The Southeast Kansas Symphony at Pittsburg State University has announced its 2025-26 season, “A Season to Dance!”
Audiences can expect five diverse concert experiences aligned to that theme under the direction of Assistant Professor Ramiro Miranda, symphony conductor.
Tickets sales will begin on Monday, Aug. 25.
Oct. 19 • 3 p.m.
"Danzas Latinas"
This lively concert will celebrate Hispanic heritage through a selection of classical and pops music for all ages.
Dec. 4 • 7 p.m.
"Nutcracker! and more"
Celebrate the beauty of winter and warmth of the season with a program full of enchanting melodies and heartwarming harmonies.
Feb. 21 • 7 p.m.
"Rising Stars"
This special event highlights the remarkable talent of student soloists who win the annual SEK’s Concerto/Aria competition, offering a platform for emerging artists to shine.
March 29 • 3 p.m.
"Tribute to Dance: a Night of Beauty and Movement"
Come hear beautiful music written for dance — from waltzes, to ballet music, and more!
May 3 • 3 p.m.
Choral and Orchestral Collaboration
The season will culminate with the collaboration of the SEKSO and the PSU Choirs. Witness the might of choral and orchestral music when these giants join forces for an unforgettable evening of music!

About the SEK Symphony
Founded in 1915 by Walter McCray, the man for whom the music building at Pittsburg State University would be named, the Southeast Kansas Symphony at Pittsburg State University still is going strong!
With at least four major performances each academic year, the symphony's goal is to be an integral part of the culture of Southeast Kansas.
It is comprised of students, university employees, and community members.
