Boat explosion injures three, one seriously, at Table Rock Lake

Three people were injured, one seriously,  in an explosion and fire at Table Rock Lake at the Big M Marina, one mile east of Eagle Rock just after 3:30 on Tuesday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the explosion happened when an operator attempted to start a 1987 Cobalt watercraft and gas fumes caused the motor to explode.

All of the injured were from Monroe, North Carolina.

One occupant, an 18-year-old female, suffered serious injuries.

The driver, a 41-year old male, and a 14-year-old male occupant suffered moderate injuries.

All three were transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo.
