Driver injured in Thursday night accident arrested by Highway Patrol

An 18-year-old man from Cherokee-Kansas suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident just before 10:30 last night on Missouri 171 -- about 5 miles north of Asbury.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 18-year-old Jayden T. Wallace was driving a 2001 Ford Mustang that went off the roadway and overturned.

He suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital in Carthage.

About an hour after the accident, Wallace was charged with Misdemeanor DUI-Drugs and Failure to Maintain the Right Half of the Roadway and Operating a Non-Commercial Vehicle while using an Electronic Mobile Device.

He was booked and released.
