Carthage sophomore killed in one vehicle accident

The Carthage, Missouri, community is mourning the loss of a high school student.
Sophomore Brianna Morris passed away in a car accident late Thursday night.
The Missouri state Highway Patrol says she was a passenger in a pickup truck that went off of Fairview Avenue, two miles west of Carthage, and hit a tree.
Morris was pronounced dead about an hour after the accident.
The 18-year-old girl behind the wheel of the pickup truck was eventually flown to a hospital in Springfield with serious injuries.
Carthage schools will be offering counselor support Monday from 1-2pm with additional support throughout the week.
