CWEP Hosts “Back-to-School SPLASH” Fundraiser

CARTHAGE, MO — Carthage Water & Electric Plant (CWEP) is excited to announce its Back-to-School
SPLASH, a school supply drive and dunk tank fundraiser benefiting Carthage Bright Futures—an initiative
that supports local students in need.

The event runs now through Tuesday, August 13th, with two easy ways for the community to get involved:
School Supply Drive

CWEP is collecting essential school supplies—including backpacks, pencils, notebooks, crayons, and
more—at the CWEP Complex (627 W. Centennial Ave.) Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A
full list of suggested donation items can be found at www.cwep.com.

The fun continues during Food Truck Friday on August 8th from 2–8 p.m. at Carthage Central Park.

Attendees are invited to stop by the CWEP booth for their chance to dunk a CWEP employee in the dunk
tank! Bring a school supply item or make a $5 donation to get three chances to soak one of the brave
volunteers—all for a great cause.

“This is what public power is all about—neighbors helping neighbors,” said Meagan Milliken, CWEP Public
Relations Manager. “As a community-owned utility, we’re proud to invest back into our local schools and
support our students however we can. Events like this are a fun and meaningful way to bring the
community together for a shared purpose.”

Back-to-school season can be financially stressful for many families. CWEP is partnering with Carthage

Bright Futures to ensure every student starts the year with the supplies they need to succeed. Every
donation, no matter how small, helps brighten a child’s school year.

Community members are encouraged to share CWEP’s social media posts and help spread the word about
the drive and dunk tank fundraiser. You can find CWEP on Facebook (@cwep.carthagemo) and Instagram
