Car confirmed stolen, Joplin man arrested

Last night, in west Joplin, a Joplin officer observed car showing signs of driver being impaired.
Officer attempted traffic stop. The driver fled. A pursuit was initated and later terminated.
A short time later, officer stopped the same vehicle around 10th and Roosevelt.
Joplin Police Capt. Austin Wolf told NewsTalk KZRG:
“The driver was identified as Michael Roland of Joplin, 39 years of age and the vehicle was confirmed stolen,”
“He was arrested for first-degree tampering,” Capt. Wolf said.
Roland was taken to the Joplin City Jail and charges have been submitted to the Jasper County Attorney.
