Boeing on strike in St. Louis
Boeing St. Louis union machinists have walked off the job.
One common theme across the board from the union members out on strike is inconsistencies with the guaranteed wage increases and the length it would take to fully see those wage increases that are being touted by Boeing.
Lathaniel Johnson, a 37 year member of the union, says.
“All them different pay levels so that it would take them forever to get to the top of the grade. And you know those guys, man, they looked at it and they seen the distance of how long it would take and all they asked for was for a better percentage of GWI.”
Other union workers who are on strike but did not want to speak on the record said that new employees are having a hard time contributing to their 401ks because of the cost of living and the wages not keeping up with inflation.
