UTV accident kills 50-year-old man from Asbury Friday night

There was fatal UTV accident in Jasper County around 10:30 Friday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it happened on County Road 260, about 7 miles northwest of Asbury.

The Patrol accident report states that a 2021 Polaris Ranger UTV operated by a 50-year-old male from Asbury overturned, ejecting him.

He was pronounced dead a little after 11 p.m. at a Joplin hospital.

It was Highway Patrol Troop D's 70th fatal accident so far in 2025.
