Congressman Burlison on Missouri redistrict map and on Hawley’s Pelosi Act

President Trump along with several Missouri state legislators want a redo of the federal congressional district map that was approved in 2022.

Southwest Missouri Congressman Eric Burlison agrees with calling for a redo: 

“Well now, you know, people like Jay Ashcroft and Bill Eigel who fervently argued for a 7-1 map, are kind of being vindicated at this time because the president wants to see it happen. And the reason is because one member can make a difference. We’re at such a thin majority that it’s important to find every congressional seat we can on the map.”

Why did President Trump call out Senator Josh Hawley over his Pelosi Act?

Southwest Missouri Congressman Eric Burlison tells Newstalk KZRG he believes: 

“The reason why President Trump was concerned is because if you’re in real estate development, you’re probably in private equity groups, you probably are using outside funders with either a REIT or private equity, and that those are people that are shareholders and you are a shareholder as well. So while it’s not a publicly traded stock, you are a shareholder and you could get caught up in all of this. And that’s why Trump was probably concerned.”
