Kidnapping, child enticement charges filed against SEK man

A man from Galena, Kansas, is facing felony kidnapping and child enticement charges after an incident in March.

Court documents say 23-year-old Chance Tyler Watkins sent explicit messages to a 13-year-old girl, picked her up, took her to a Joplin park and then performed sex acts with her.

Prosecutors say Watkins met the victim at her mom’s work on March 24 and that it was his first day at this work place.

He and the young girl exchanged Snapchat user ID’s and began talking to each other.

The same night or early the next morning on March 25 is when he enticed, kidnapped and allegedly raped the victim.
