Drowning in Shoal Creek

Reports of a drowning at Grand Falls on Shoal Creek came in Saturday afternoon around 3 P.M. Joplin Fire Water Rescue, Joplin Police, and METS ambulance responded. Reddings Mill water rescue was also alerted.

Two males, 16 and 20 years old, reportedly both went under water for unknown reasons. The 20 year old surfaced with non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The 16 year old boy was recovered after an extensive search, and was deceased.

Their names are being withheld at this time, though families have been notified.
