Train hits SUV driven by girl from Pittsburg

There was a narrow escape in southeast Kansas Tuesday evening.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says an SUV driven by a teenage girl was hit by a train near Pittsburg around 6:15 p.m.
It happened on East 515 Avenue when 17-year-old Onna Horg Thelisma tried to drive through the railroad crossing with signs activated.
Her 2014 Ford Escape was hit by the Burlington Northern engine.
The teen was not injured.
Experts say you should never bypass warning signals and trains always have the right of way.
