Joplin Outlaws split doubleheader

The Joplin Outlaws earned a split of a doubleheader against the Texarkana Rhinos on Sunday.
Joplin opened the twinbill with a 15-5 win before falling 6-5 in the nightcap. 

Joplin capped a five-inning win over Texarkana with a seven-run third inning and five-run fourth.

Anthony Mazza homered twice and drove in four, while Landin Midgett homered and had three RBI in the win.

Sullivan Lane earned the win after pitching three innings and allowing four runs on four hits.

Texarkana scored in each of the first three innings to build an insurmountable lead in the second game. 

Mazza had two more hits and drove in one in the loss. Luke Graham doubled and drove in two for Joplin.

Parker Wilson took the loss after allowing six runs on eight hits in 3 ⅓ innings.

Joplin is back at home for $2 Tuesdays, hosting the Fort Smith Marshals at 7:05 at Joe Becker Stadium.
