Coffeyville Fire Department employee arrested for alleged child sex crimes

A Coffeyville Fire Department employee was arrested Wednesday for child sex crimes.
The KBI says agents took one man in custody in Cherokee County Wednesday during a traffic stop for alleged sexual exploitation of a child and aggravated indecent solicitation of a child.
The City of Coffeyville, in a statement on Facebook, said the charges against employee Spencer Barnard are “deeply troubling.
The statement said Barnard, who had already informed the City of his intent to resign, has been terminated.
He’s being held without bond in the Cherokee County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
